Abu Masud Uqba bin Amr reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A man from among those who came before you was called to account, and no good was found in his record except that he used to deal with people, and being a man of wealth, he would instruct his servants to be lenient with those in financial hardship."He said, "Allah said, 'We are more deserving of that than he is. Be lenient with him.'"

حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى وأبو بكر بن أبي شيبة وأبو كريب وإسحق بن إبراهيم واللفظ ليحيى قال يحيى أخبرنا وقال الآخرون حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن شقيق

عن أبي مسعود قال

قال رسول الله ﷺ حوسب رجل ممن كان قبلكم فلم يوجد له من الخير شيء إلا أنه كان يخالط الناس وكان موسرا فكان يأمر غلمانه أن يتجاوزوا عن المعسر قال قال الله عز وجل نحن أحق بذلك منه تجاوزوا عنه
