He said that the matter of liaan was mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and Asim bin Adi spoke about it, then departed. A man from his people came to him complaining that he had found another man with his wife. Asim said, "I have only been tested with this because of what I said."So he took him to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him about the man he had found with his wife. The husband was yellowish in complexion, slight of build, and had straight hair, while the man he accused of being with his wife was sturdy, dark-skinned, and heavyset.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah, make it clear."She gave birth to a child resembling the man whom her husband said he had found with her. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ carried out the liaan between them.A man in the gathering said to Ibn Abbas, "Is she the one about whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Had I stoned anyone without proof, I would have stoned this woman'?"Ibn Abbas replied, "No, that was another woman who openly committed evil while professing Islam."
و حدثنا محمد بن رمح بن المهاجر وعيسى بن حماد المصريان واللفظ لابن رمح قالا أخبرنا الليث عن يحيى بن سعيد عن عبد الرحمن بن القاسم عن القاسم بن محمد
أنه قال ذكر التلاعن عند رسول الله ﷺ فقال عاصم بن عدي في ذلك قولا ثم انصرف فأتاه رجل من قومه يشكو إليه أنه وجد مع أهله رجلا فقال عاصم ما ابتليت بهذا إلا لقولي فذهب به إلى رسول الله ﷺ فأخبره بالذي وجد عليه امرأته وكان ذلك الرجل مصفرا قليل اللحم سبط الشعر وكان الذي ادعى عليه أنه وجد عند أهله خدلا آدم كثير اللحم فقال رسول الله ﷺ اللهم بين فوضعت شبيها بالرجل الذي ذكر زوجها أنه وجده عندها فلاعن رسول الله ﷺ بينهما فقال رجل لابن عباس في المجلس أهي التي قال رسول الله ﷺ لو رجمت أحدا بغير بينة رجمت هذه فقال ابن عباس لا تلك امرأة كانت تظهر في الإسلام السوء
