I asked Anas bin Malik about this matter, thinking he had some knowledge of it, and he said, "Hilal bin Umaya accused his wife of committing adultery with Sharik bin Sahma, who was the maternal brother of Bara bin Malik. He was the first man to perform the lian oath in Islam."He continued, "So he performed the lian against her, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Watch her closely. If she gives birth to a child who is fair-skinned, with straight hair and clear eyes, then he belongs to Hilal bin Umaya. But if she gives birth to a child with dark eyelids, curly hair, and thin legs, then he belongs to Sharik bin Sahma.'"He said, "I was later informed that she gave birth to a child with dark eyelids, curly hair, and thin legs."

سألت أنس بن مالك وأنا أرى أن عنده منه علما فقال إن هلال بن أمية قذف امرأته بشريك ابن سحماء وكان أخا البراء بن مالك لأمه وكان أول رجل لاعن في الإسلام قال فلاعنها فقال رسول الله ﷺ أبصروها فإن جاءت به أبيض سبطا قضيء العينين فهو لهلال بن أمية وإن جاءت به أكحل جعدا حمش الساقين فهو لشريك ابن سحماء قال فأنبئت أنها جاءت به أكحل جعدا حمش الساقين
