I visited Fatimah bint Qays and asked her about the ruling the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had issued concerning her. She said that her husband had divorced her with an irrevocable divorce.She said, "I took the matter to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding lodging and maintenance."She continued, "He did not grant me lodging or maintenance, and he instructed me to observe my waiting period in the house of Ibn Umm Maktum."

دخلت على فاطمة بنت قيس فسألتها عن قضاء رسول الله ﷺ عليها فقالت طلقها زوجها البتة فقالت فخاصمته إلى رسول الله ﷺ في السكنى والنفقة قالت فلم يجعل لي سكنى ولا نفقة وأمرني أن أعتد في بيت ابن أم مكتوم
