Anas bin Malik reported,

When the Prophet ﷺ married Zaynab, Umm Sulaym sent him a gift of hays in a stone bowl.Anas said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ told me, "Go and invite for me whomever you meet from among the Muslims."So I invited everyone I met, and they began coming in to him, eating, and leaving. The Prophet ﷺ placed his hand on the food and supplicated over it, saying whatever Allah willed for him to say. I did not meet anyone without inviting him, and they ate until they were full and left. But a group of them remained behind, prolonging their conversation with him. The Prophet ﷺ felt too shy to say anything to them, so he went out and left them in the house.Then Allah revealed, "Believers, do not enter the houses of the Prophet unless permission is granted to you for a meal, without waiting for it to be prepared" [Ahzab 33:53].Qatada said, this means without watching for the time of the meal."But when you are invited, then enter," until His saying, "That is purer for your hearts and theirs" [Ahzab 33:53].

عن أنس قال

لما تزوج النبي ﷺ زينب أهدت له أم سليم حيسا في تور من حجارة فقال أنس فقال رسول الله ﷺ اذهب فادع لي من لقيت من المسلمين فدعوت له من لقيت فجعلوا يدخلون عليه فيأكلون ويخرجون ووضع النبي ﷺ يده على الطعام فدعا فيه وقال فيه ما شاء الله أن يقول ولم أدع أحدا لقيته إلا دعوته فأكلوا حتى شبعوا وخرجوا وبقي طائفة منهم فأطالوا عليه الحديث فجعل النبي ﷺ يستحيي منهم أن يقول لهم شيئا فخرج وتركهم في البيت فأنزل الله عز وجل {يا أيها الذين آمنوا لا تدخلوا بيوت النبي إلا أن يؤذن لكم إلى طعام غير ناظرين إناه} قال قتادة غير متحينين طعاما {ولكن إذا دعيتم فادخلوا} حتى بلغ {ذلكم أطهر لقلوبكم وقلوبهن}
