Safiyyah fell to Dihyah as part of his share of the spoils, and people began praising her before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, saying, "We have not seen her like among the captives."So he sent for Dihyah and gave him what he wanted in exchange for her, then handed her over to my mother and said, "Prepare her."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then set out from Khaybar. When he had put it behind him, he stopped and pitched a tent over her. In the morning, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever has any extra provisions, let him bring them to us."Men began bringing surplus dates and surplus parched barley until they had gathered a large quantity, and they made it into a sweet dish called hays. They ate from that hays and drank from pools of rainwater beside them.Anas said, "That was the wedding feast of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for her."He continued, "We then traveled on, and when we caught sight of the walls of Madinah, we were thrilled at the sight and urged our mounts forward, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ urged his mount forward as well, with Safiyyah riding behind him, for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had seated her behind him on his mount."The mount of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ then stumbled, and he fell and she fell with him. None of the people looked at him or at her until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up and screened her from view.We came to him, and he said, "We are unhurt."We then entered Madinah, and the slave girls of his wives came out looking at her and gloating over her fall.

صارت صفية لدحية في مقسمه وجعلوا يمدحونها عند رسول الله ﷺ قال ويقولون ما رأينا في السبي مثلها قال فبعث إلى دحية فأعطاه بها ما أراد ثم دفعها إلى أمي فقال أصلحيها قال ثم خرج رسول الله ﷺ من خيبر حتى إذا جعلها في ظهره نزل ثم ضرب عليها القبة فلما أصبح قال رسول الله ﷺ من كان عنده فضل زاد فليأتنا به قال فجعل الرجل يجيء بفضل التمر وفضل السويق حتى جعلوا من ذلك سوادا حيسا فجعلوا يأكلون من ذلك الحيس ويشربون من حياض إلى جنبهم من ماء السماء قال فقال أنس فكانت تلك وليمة رسول الله ﷺ عليها قال فانطلقنا حتى إذا رأينا جدر المدينة هششنا إليها فرفعنا مطينا ورفع رسول الله ﷺ مطيته قال وصفية خلفه قد أردفها رسول الله ﷺ قال فعثرت مطية رسول الله ﷺ فصرع وصرعت قال فليس أحد من الناس ينظر إليه ولا إليها حتى قام رسول الله ﷺ فسترها قال فأتيناه فقال لم نضر قال فدخلنا المدينة فخرج جواري نسائه يتراءينها ويشمتن بصرعتها
