Umar bin Ubaydullah bin Muamar sent me on an errand. He was seeking the hand of the daughter of Shayba bin Uthman in marriage for his son, so he sent me to Abban bin Uthman, who was leading the pilgrimage season at the time.Abban said, "Do I not see him acting like an Arabi? A person in the state of ihram for Hajj or Umrah may neither marry nor give in marriage. Uthman informed us of this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
و حدثنا محمد بن أبي بكر المقدمي حدثنا حماد بن زيد عن أيوب عن نافع حدثني
بعثني عمر بن عبيد الله بن معمر وكان يخطب بنت شيبة بن عثمان على ابنه فأرسلني إلى أبان بن عثمان وهو على الموسم فقال ألا أراه أعرابيا إن المحرم لا ينكح ولا ينكح أخبرنا بذلك عثمان عن رسول الله ﷺ
