The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Ayesha, were it not that your people are recently removed from polytheism, I would have demolished the Kaabah and rebuilt it level with the ground. I would have made two doors for it, an eastern door and a western door, and I would have added six cubits from the Hijr to it, for Quraysh fell short when they built the Kaabah."
و حدثني محمد بن حاتم حدثني ابن مهدي حدثنا سليم بن حيان عن سعيد يعني ابن ميناء قال سمعت عبد الله بن الزبير يقول حدثتني
قال رسول الله ﷺ يا عائشة لولا أن قومك حديثو عهد بشرك لهدمت الكعبة فألزقتها بالأرض وجعلت لها بابين بابا شرقيا وبابا غربيا وزدت فيها ستة أذرع من الحجر فإن قريشا اقتصرتها حيث بنت الكعبة
