We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ speaking of nothing but the Hajj. When we reached Sarif, my menstrual period began. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came in to see me while I was weeping.He asked, "What is making you cry?"I said, "By Allah, I wish I had not set out this year."He said, "What is the matter with you? Perhaps you are menstruating?"I said, "Yes."He said, "This is something Allah has decreed for the daughters of Adam. Do whatever the pilgrims do, except do not circumambulate the House until you are pure."When we arrived in Mecca, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to his Companions, "Make it an Umrah." So the people exited the state of ihram, except for those who had brought sacrificial animals with them. The sacrificial animals were with the Prophet ﷺ, Abu Bakr and Umar, and those of means. Then they entered ihram again when they set out.On the Day of Sacrifice I became pure, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed me, so I performed the circumambulation of ifadah. Then beef was brought to us, and I asked, "What is this?"They said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sacrificed a cow on behalf of his wives."On the night of Hasbah I said, "Messenger of Allah, the people are returning with a Hajj and an Umrah, while I am returning with only a Hajj."So he ordered Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Bakr to take me up behind him on his camel. I still remember being a young Jariya, dozing off so that my face would strike the back of the saddle, until we came to Tanim. From there I entered ihram for an Umrah, in compensation for the Umrah the people had performed.

خرجنا مع رسول الله ﷺ لا نذكر إلا الحج حتى جئنا سرف فطمثت فدخل علي رسول الله ﷺ وأنا أبكي فقال ما يبكيك فقلت والله لوددت أني لم أكن خرجت العام قال ما لك لعلك نفست قلت نعم قال هذا شيء كتبه الله على بنات آدم افعلي ما يفعل الحاج غير أن لا تطوفي بالبيت حتى تطهري قالت فلما قدمت مكة قال رسول الله ﷺ لأصحابه اجعلوها عمرة فأحل الناس إلا من كان معه الهدي قالت فكان الهدي مع النبي ﷺ وأبي بكر وعمر وذوي اليسارة ثم أهلوا حين راحوا قالت فلما كان يوم النحر طهرت فأمرني رسول الله ﷺ فأفضت قالت فأتينا بلحم بقر فقلت ما هذا فقالوا أهدى رسول الله ﷺ عن نسائه البقر فلما كانت ليلة الحصبة قلت يا رسول الله يرجع الناس بحجة وعمرة وأرجع بحجة قالت فأمر عبد الرحمن بن أبي بكر فأردفني على جمله قالت فإني لأذكر وأنا جارية حديثة السن أنعس فيصيب وجهي مؤخرة الرحل حتى جئنا إلى التنعيم فأهللت منها بعمرة جزاء بعمرة الناس التي اعتمروا
