We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the year of the Farewell Pilgrimage. Some of us entered the state of ihram for Umra, some entered ihram for both Hajj and Umra, and some entered ihram for Hajj alone. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered ihram for Hajj.Those who had entered ihram for Umra exited the state of ihram, while those who had entered ihram for Hajj or who had combined Hajj and Umra did not exit ihram until the Day of Sacrifice.
حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى قال قرأت على مالك عن أبي الأسود محمد بن عبد الرحمن بن نوفل عن عروة
خرجنا مع رسول الله ﷺ عام حجة الوداع فمنا من أهل بعمرة ومنا من أهل بحج وعمرة ومنا من أهل بالحج وأهل رسول الله ﷺ بالحج فأما من أهل بعمرة فحل وأما من أهل بحج أو جمع الحج والعمرة فلم يحلوا حتى كان يوم النحر
