Ibn Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out during the year of the Conquest in Ramadan and fasted until he reached al-Kadid, then he broke his fast. The companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to follow the most recent of his commands.
حدثني يحيى بن يحيى ومحمد بن رمح قالا أخبرنا الليث ح و حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد حدثنا ليث عن ابن شهاب عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله بن عتبة
أنه أخبره أن رسول الله ﷺ خرج عام الفتح في رمضان فصام حتى بلغ الكديد ثم أفطر قال وكان صحابة رسول الله ﷺ يتبعون الأحدث فالأحدث من أمره
