Ayesha reported,

A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the mosque during Ramadan and said, "Messenger of Allah, I am ruined, I am ruined!"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him what was the matter. He replied, "I had relations with my wife while fasting."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Give charity."The man said, "By Allah, Prophet of Allah, I have nothing, and I cannot afford it."He said, "Sit down."So he sat. While he was in that state, a man came along driving a donkey loaded with food. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Where is the one who said he was ruined just now?"The man stood up, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Give this away as charity."He said, "Messenger of Allah, to someone other than us? By Allah, we are hungry and we have nothing."He said, "Then eat it."
