Zaynab Thaqafiya reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Give in charity, women, even from your jewelry."She said, "So I went back to Abdullah and said, 'You are a man of limited means, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has commanded us to give charity. Go and ask him whether giving it to you would suffice on my behalf. If not, I will give it to someone other than you.'"Abdullah said to me, "No, you go to him yourself."So I set out, and there at the door of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was a woman from the Ansar whose need was the same as mine. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had been clothed with such awe that we hesitated to enter. Then Bilal came out to us, and we said to him, "Go to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and tell him that two women are at the door asking whether charity given to their husbands and to orphans in their care would suffice on their behalf, but do not tell him who we are."Bilal went in to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Who are they?"Bilal answered, "A woman from the Ansar, and Zaynab."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Which Zaynab?"He replied, "The wife of Abdullah."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "They have two rewards, the reward of upholding kinship and the reward of charity."
