The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was wrapped in a Yemeni cloak that belonged to Abdullah bin Abu Bakr, but it was then removed from him, and he was shrouded in three white Yemeni garments, without a turban or shirt among them.Abdullah took back the cloak and said, "I will be shrouded in it." Then he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was not shrouded in it, so shall I be shrouded in it?" So he gave it away in charity.
و حدثني علي بن حجر السعدي أخبرنا علي بن مسهر حدثنا هشام بن عروة عن أبيه
أدرج رسول الله ﷺ في حلة يمنية كانت لعبد الله بن أبي بكر ثم نزعت عنه وكفن في ثلاثة أثواب سحول يمانية ليس فيها عمامة ولا قميص فرفع عبد الله الحلة فقال أكفن فيها ثم قال لم يكفن فيها رسول الله ﷺ وأكفن فيها فتصدق بها
