Ayesha reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was shrouded in three white Sahuli garments of cotton, with no shirt or turban among them. As for the striped Yemeni garment, people were mistaken about it. It had been purchased for him to be shrouded in, but it was set aside, and he was shrouded in three white Sahuli garments instead.Abdullah bin Abu Bakr took the garment and said, "I will keep it so that I may be shrouded in it myself." Then he said, "Had Allah been pleased with it for His Prophet, He would have shrouded him in it." So he sold it and gave its price away in charity.

عن عائشة قالت

كفن رسول الله ﷺ في ثلاثة أثواب بيض سحولية من كرسف ليس فيها قميص ولا عمامة أما الحلة فإنما شبه على الناس فيها أنها اشتريت له ليكفن فيها فتركت الحلة وكفن في ثلاثة أثواب بيض سحولية فأخذها عبد الله بن أبي بكر فقال لأحبسنها حتى أكفن فيها نفسي ثم قال لو رضيها الله عز وجل لنبيه لكفنه فيها فباعها وتصدق بثمنها
