When Umar bin Khattab was stabbed, Hafsah wailed over him. He said, "Hafsah, did you not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say that the one wailed over is punished?"Suhayb also wailed over him, so Umar said, "Suhayb, do you not know that the one wailed over is punished?"
و حدثني عمرو الناقد حدثنا عفان بن مسلم حدثنا حماد بن سلمة عن ثابت
أن عمر بن الخطاب لما طعن عولت عليه حفصة فقال يا حفصة أما سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول المعول عليه يعذب وعول عليه صهيب فقال عمر يا صهيب أما علمت أن المعول عليه يعذب
