The sun was eclipsed during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I came in to Ayesha while she was praying, so I asked, "What is the matter with the people, why are they praying?"She gestured with her head toward the sky.I asked, "Is it a sign?"She replied, "Yes."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prolonged the standing greatly, until I felt faint. So I took a waterskin that was beside me and began pouring water over my head, or over my face.She said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished his prayer after the sun had become clear again. Then he addressed the people, praising Allah and extolling Him, then he said, "To proceed. There is nothing I had not previously seen but I have seen it now from this place of mine, even Paradise and Hell. It has been revealed to me that you will be tested in your graves with a trial close to, or like, the trial of the Messiah Dajjal." I do not know which of the two Asma said."One of you will be brought, and it will be said to him, 'What do you know about this man?' As for the believer, or the one with certainty," I do not know which of the two Asma said, "he will say, 'He is Muhammad, he is the Messenger of Allah, he came to us with clear proofs and guidance, so we responded and obeyed,' three times. It will be said to him, 'Sleep. We knew that you indeed believed in him. So sleep righteously.' But as for the hypocrite, or the doubter," I do not know which of the two Asma said, "he will say, 'I do not know. I heard the people saying something, so I said it.'"

خسفت الشمس على عهد رسول الله ﷺ فدخلت على عائشة وهي تصلي فقلت ما شأن الناس يصلون فأشارت برأسها إلى السماء فقلت آية قالت نعم فأطال رسول الله ﷺ القيام جدا حتى تجلاني الغشي فأخذت قربة من ماء إلى جنبي فجعلت أصب على رأسي أو على وجهي من الماء قالت فانصرف رسول الله ﷺ وقد تجلت الشمس فخطب رسول الله ﷺ الناس فحمد الله وأثنى عليه ثم قال أما بعد ما من شيء لم أكن رأيته إلا قد رأيته في مقامي هذا حتى الجنة والنار وإنه قد أوحي إلي أنكم تفتنون في القبور قريبا أو مثل فتنة المسيح الدجال لا أدري أي ذلك قالت أسماء فيؤتى أحدكم فيقال ما علمك بهذا الرجل فأما المؤمن أو الموقن لا أدري أي ذلك قالت أسماء فيقول هو محمد هو رسول الله جاءنا بالبينات والهدى فأجبنا وأطعنا ثلاث مرار فيقال له نم قد كنا نعلم إنك لتؤمن به فنم صالحا وأما المنافق أو المرتاب لا أدري أي ذلك قالت أسماء فيقول لا أدري سمعت الناس يقولون شيئا فقلت
