The people were struck by a year of drought during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delivering the Friday sermon from the pulpit, an Arabi stood up and said, "Messenger of Allah, our livestock have perished and our families are starving."He continued the hadith with its meaning, and in it the Prophet ﷺ said, "O Allah, around us and not upon us."The narrator said, He did not point his hand toward any direction except that the clouds parted there, until I saw Medina as if it were in an opening surrounded by clouds. The valley of Qanah flowed for a month, and no one came from any direction without reporting abundant rainfall.

أصابت الناس سنة على عهد رسول الله ﷺ فبينا رسول الله ﷺ يخطب الناس على المنبر يوم الجمعة إذ قام أعرابي فقال يا رسول الله هلك المال وجاع العيال وساق الحديث بمعناه وفيه قال اللهم حوالينا ولا علينا قال فما يشير بيده إلى ناحية إلا تفرجت حتى رأيت المدينة في مثل الجوبة وسال وادي قناة شهرا ولم يجئ أحد من ناحية إلا أخبر بجود
