Kurayb reported,

Ibn Abbas spent a night at the home of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ got up and went to the waterskin, poured water from it, and performed ablution without using much water, yet without falling short in the ablution. He then narrated the rest of the hadith, in which he said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ made a supplication of nineteen phrases that night.Salama said, "Kurayb related these to me, and I memorized twelve of them but forgot the rest."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah, place light in my heart, light on my tongue, light in my hearing, light in my sight, light above me, light below me, light to my right, light to my left, light before me, light behind me, place light within my soul, and magnify light for me."

أن ابن عباس بات ليلة عند رسول الله ﷺ قال فقام رسول الله ﷺ إلى القربة فسكب منها فتوضأ ولم يكثر من الماء ولم يقصر في الوضوء وساق الحديث وفيه قال ودعا رسول الله ﷺ ليلتئذ تسع عشرة كلمة قال سلمة حدثنيها كريب فحفظت منها ثنتي عشرة ونسيت ما بقي قال رسول الله ﷺ اللهم اجعل لي في قلبي نورا وفي لساني نورا وفي سمعي نورا وفي بصري نورا ومن فوقي نورا ومن تحتي نورا وعن يميني نورا وعن شمالي نورا ومن بين يدي نورا ومن خلفي نورا واجعل في نفسي نورا وأعظم لي نورا
