The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite while sitting, and when he wanted to perform the bowing, he would stand for the length of time it would take a person to recite forty verses.
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة وإسحق بن إبراهيم قال أبو بكر حدثنا إسمعيل ابن علية عن الوليد بن أبي هشام عن أبي بكر بن محمد عن عمرة
كان رسول الله ﷺ يقرأ وهو قاعد فإذا أراد أن يركع قام قدر ما يقرأ إنسان أربعين آية
