I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying on a donkey while heading toward Khaybar.
حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى قال قرأت على مالك عن عمرو بن يحيى المازني عن سعيد بن يسار
رأيت رسول الله ﷺ يصلي على حمار وهو موجه إلى خيبر
Muslim narrated the hadith of Amr bin Yahya from Abu Hubab from Ibn Umar, "He prayed while on a donkey." Abu Bakr bin Umar differed with him, narrating from Abu Hubab, saying "on a camel," and this is also what Jabir and others said regarding the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family. Muslim narrated both of them, but Bukhari did not narrate the hadith of Amr bin Yahya, and he narrated the other one.Whoever narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, prayed while on a donkey has made a mistake. The correct account is that this was the practice of Anas. And Allah knows best.
