A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked him about the times of prayer. He said, "Stay with us for the prayers."He instructed Bilal, who gave the call to prayer in the last darkness of the night, and he prayed Fajr when dawn broke. Then he instructed him to call for Dhuhr when the sun had passed the meridian. Then he instructed him to call for Asr while the sun was still high. Then he instructed him to call for Maghrib when the sun had set. Then he instructed him to call for Isha when the twilight had disappeared.The next day, he instructed him to delay Fajr until it was light. Then he instructed him to call for Dhuhr when the heat had cooled. Then he instructed him to call for Asr while the sun was still bright white, untouched by any yellowness. Then he instructed him to call for Maghrib before the twilight disappeared. Then he instructed him to call for Isha when a third of the night had passed, or part of it. Harami was uncertain about this.When morning came, he said, "Where is the questioner? The time for each prayer is between these two."
و حدثني إبراهيم بن محمد بن عرعرة السامي حدثنا حرمي بن عمارة حدثنا شعبة عن علقمة بن مرثد
أن رجلا أتى النبي ﷺ فسأله عن مواقيت الصلاة فقال اشهد معنا الصلاة فأمر بلالا فأذن بغلس فصلى الصبح حين طلع الفجر ثم أمره بالظهر حين زالت الشمس عن بطن السماء ثم أمره بالعصر والشمس مرتفعة ثم أمره بالمغرب حين وجبت الشمس ثم أمره بالعشاء حين وقع الشفق ثم أمره الغد فنور بالصبح ثم أمره بالظهر فأبرد ثم أمره بالعصر والشمس بيضاء نقية لم تخالطها صفرة ثم أمره بالمغرب قبل أن يقع الشفق ثم أمره بالعشاء عند ذهاب ثلث الليل أو بعضه شك حرمي فلما أصبح قال أين السائل ما بين ما رأيت وقت
