The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave the closing salutation after three units of the afternoon prayer, then stood up and entered his chamber. A man with long arms rose and asked, "Has the prayer been shortened, Messenger of Allah?"He came out angry, prayed the unit he had omitted, then gave the closing salutation, then performed the two prostrations of forgetfulness, and gave the closing salutation again.
و حدثنا إسحق بن إبراهيم أخبرنا عبد الوهاب الثقفي حدثنا خالد وهو الحذاء عن أبي قلابة عن أبي المهلب
سلم رسول الله ﷺ في ثلاث ركعات من العصر ثم قام فدخل الحجرة فقام رجل بسيط اليدين فقال أقصرت الصلاة يا رسول الله فخرج مغضبا فصلى الركعة التي كان ترك ثم سلم ثم سجد سجدتي السهو ثم سلم
