We were with the Prophet ﷺ, and none of us would bend his back until we saw him prostrate.Zuhayr said, Sufyan narrated to us, he said, the Kufans, Abban and others, narrated to us, saying, "until we saw him prostrating."
حدثنا زهير بن حرب وابن نمير قالا حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة حدثنا أبان وغيره عن الحكم عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى
كنا مع النبي ﷺ لا يحنو أحد منا ظهره حتى نراه قد سجد فقال زهير حدثنا سفيان قال حدثنا الكوفيون أبان وغيره قال حتى نراه يسجد
Muslim included the hadith of Ibn Uyayna, from Aban, from Hakam, from Ibn Abu Layla, from Bara, "None of us should turn his back."Ibn Arara disagreed with him, saying it is from Shubah, from Hakam, from Abdullah bin Yazid. The hadith is well known through Abdullah bin Yazid. Abu Ishaq and Muharib both narrated it from him. No one said "from Ibn Abu Layla" except Abu Aban bin Taghlib, from Hakam, and others besides Aban have better memory than him.
I say, what appears to me is that the statement of Daraqutni, may Allah have mercy on him, is well-founded, because the hadith is well known through Abdullah bin Yazid, as Daraqutni said. Abu Ishaq narrated it from Abdullah bin Yazid, as found in Bukhari, volume 2, page 180, the Salafiyyah edition with Fath al-Bari, and in Muslim, volume 4, page 190. Muharib bin Dithar also narrated it from Abdullah bin Yazid, as found in Muslim, volume 4, page 1.
