He reported hearing him relate that a man once passed by Abu Dharr at Rabadha, and Abu Dharr asked him, "Where are you headed?"The man replied, "I intend to perform Hajj."Abu Dharr asked, "Did anything else drive you out?"He said, "No."Abu Dharr said, "Then begin your deeds afresh."The man said, "So I set out and reached Makkah, and I stayed there as long as Allah willed. Then I came upon a crowd of people pressing in tightly around a man, so I pushed my way through them along with the rest, and there was the old man I had met at Rabadha, meaning Abu Dharr. When he saw me he recognized me and said, 'That is what I told you.'"
و حدثني عن مالك عن يحيى بن سعيد
أنه سمعه يذكر أن رجلا مر على أبي ذر بالربذة وأن أبا ذر سأله أين تريد فقال أردت الحج فقال هل نزعك غيره فقال لا قال فأتنف العمل قال الرجل فخرجت حتى قدمت مكة فمكثت ما شاء الله ثم إذا أنا بالناس منقصفين على رجل فضاغطت عليه الناس فإذا أنا بالشيخ الذي وجدت بالربذة يعني أبا ذر قال فلما رآني عرفني فقال هو الذي حدثتك
