Malik reported,

Umar bin Khattab, Ali bin Abu Talib, and Abu Hurairah were asked about a man who had intercourse with his wife while in a state of consecration for Hajj.They answered, "The two of them are to carry on and continue on their way until they complete their Hajj. Then they must perform Hajj again the following year, and they must offer a sacrificial animal."The narrator added that Ali bin Abu Talib said, "And when they enter the state of consecration for Hajj the following year, they must keep apart from each other until they have completed their Hajj."

عن مالك، أنه بلغه

أن عمر بن الخطاب، وعلي بن أبي طالب، وأبا هريرة سئلوا عن رجل أصاب أهله؛ وهو محرم بالحج؟فقالوا: ينفذان، يمضيان لوجههما، حتى يقضيا حجهما، ثم عليهما حج قابل، والهدي.قال: وقال علي بن أبي طالب: وإذا أهلا بالحج من عام قابل، تفرقا حتى يقضيا حجهما.
