Abdullah bin Umar reported,

If someone dedicates a sacrificial camel as an offering and it then goes missing or dies, he must replace it if it was pledged as a vow. But if it was a voluntary offering, he may replace it if he wishes, or he may leave it.

وحدثني عن مالك، عن نافع،

عن عبد الله بن عمر: أنه قال

من أهدى بدنة، ثم ضلت أو ماتت؛ فإنها إن كانت نذرا؛ أبدلها. وإن كانت تطوعا؛ فإن شاء أبدلها، وإن شاء تركها.
