Urwa bin Zubayr reported,

The man in charge of the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ sacrificial animals asked, "Messenger of Allah, what should I do with any of the sacrificial animals that becomes unable to continue?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ told him, "Whenever one of the sacrificial camels breaks down, slaughter it, then dip its garland in its blood, then leave it for the people to eat."

عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه

أن صاحب هدي رسول الله ﷺ قال يا رسول الله كيف أصنع بما عطب من الهدي فقال له رسول الله ﷺ كل بدنة عطبت من الهدي فانحرها ثم ألق قلادتها في دمها ثم خل بينها وبين الناس يأكلونها
