The companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the state of consecration for Umrah in the year of the Farewell Pilgrimage, and then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to them, "Whoever has a sacrificial animal with him should enter the state of consecration for Hajj along with Umrah, and then not leave that state until he leaves it for both together."
وقد أهل أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ عام حجة الوداع بالعمرة، ثم قال لهم رسول الله ﷺ: من كان معه هدي؛ فليهل بالحج مع العمرة، ثم لا يحل حتى يحل منهما جميعا.
