In the year of the Farewell Pilgrimage, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out for Hajj. Some of his companions entered the state of consecration for Hajj alone, some combined Hajj and Umrah, and some entered it for Umrah only. Those who had entered it for Hajj, or who had combined Hajj and Umrah, did not leave that state, while those who had entered it for Umrah did leave it.
و حدثني عن مالك عن محمد بن عبد الرحمن
أن رسول الله ﷺ عام حجة الوداع خرج إلى الحج فمن أصحابه من أهل بحج ومنهم من جمع الحج والعمرة ومنهم من أهل بعمرة فقط فأما من أهل بحج أو جمع الحج والعمرة فلم يحلل وأما من كان أهل بعمرة فحلوا
