Miqdad bin Aswad came in upon Ali bin Abu Talib at Suqya while he was feeding some young camels of his a mash of flour and beaten leaves.Miqdad said, "Uthman bin Affan here is forbidding people to combine Hajj and Umrah."So Ali bin Abu Talib went out with the traces of the flour and the leaves still on his hands. I shall never forget the marks of the flour and the leaves on his forearms as he walked in upon Uthman bin Affan.Ali said, "Are you forbidding people to combine Hajj and Umrah?"Uthman replied, "That is my opinion."Ali walked out angry, saying, "At Your service, Allah, at Your service, with a Hajj and an Umrah together."
حدثني يحيى عن مالك
أن المقداد بن الأسود دخل على علي بن أبي طالب بالسقيا وهو ينجع بكرات له دقيقا وخبطا فقال هذا عثمان بن عفان ينهى عن أن يقرن بين الحج والعمرة فخرج علي بن أبي طالب وعلى يديه أثر الدقيق والخبط فما أنسى أثر الدقيق والخبط على ذراعيه حتى دخل على عثمان بن عفان فقال أنت تنهى عن أن يقرن بين الحج والعمرة فقال عثمان ذلك رأيي فخرج علي مغضبا وهو يقول لبيك اللهم لبيك بحجة وعمرة معا
