The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke about Ramadan and said, "Do not begin fasting until you see the crescent moon, and do not break the fast until you see it. If it is hidden from you by clouds, then complete the count as thirty days."
و حدثني عن مالك عن ثور بن زيد الديلي
أن رسول الله ﷺ ذكر رمضان فقال لا تصوموا حتى تروا الهلال ولا تفطروا حتى تروه فإن غم عليكم فأكملوا العدة ثلاثين
