Abdullah bin Amr bin As reported,

The deceased is clothed in a shirt, wrapped with a waist cloth, and then enfolded in a third garment. If only a single garment is available, he is shrouded in that.

و حدثني عن مالك عن ابن شهاب عن حميد بن عبد الرحمن بن عوف

عن عبد الله بن عمرو بن العاص أنه قال

الميت يقمص ويؤزر ويلف في الثوب الثالث فإن لم يكن إلا ثوب واحد كفن فيه
