The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say, "When the sun's upper rim appears, delay the prayer until it has risen clear, and when the sun's upper rim disappears, delay the prayer until it has fully set."
و حدثني عن مالك
كان رسول الله ﷺ يقول إذا بدا حاجب الشمس فأخروا الصلاة حتى تبرز وإذا غاب حاجب الشمس فأخروا الصلاة حتى تغيب
