Umm Hani reported that she went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the year of the Conquest and found him bathing, while his daughter Fatimah screened him with a garment.She said, "I greeted him."He asked, "Who is this?"She replied, "Umm Hani bint Abu Talib."He said, "Welcome, Umm Hani."When he finished his bath, he stood and prayed eight units of prayer, wrapped in a single garment. Then he turned to her.She said, "Messenger of Allah, my mother's son Ali claims that he intends to kill a man I have granted protection, so-and-so bin Hubayrah."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "We grant protection to whomever you have granted protection, Umm Hani."Umm Hani said, "That was in the forenoon."
و حدثني عن مالك عن أبي النضر مولى عمر بن عبيد الله أن أبا مرة مولى عقيل بن أبي طالب أخبره أنه
ذهبت إلى رسول الله ﷺ عام الفتح فوجدته يغتسل وفاطمة ابنته تستره بثوب قالت فسلمت عليه فقال من هذه فقلت أم هانئ بنت أبي طالب فقال مرحبا بأم هانئ فلما فرغ من غسله قام فصلى ثماني ركعات ملتحفا في ثوب واحد ثم انصرف فقلت يا رسول الله زعم ابن أمي علي أنه قاتل رجلا أجرته فلان بن هبيرة فقال رسول الله ﷺ قد أجرنا من أجرت يا أم هانئ قالت أم هانئ وذلك ضحى
