A man asked Saeed bin Musayab, "I pray at home, then I come to the masjid and find the imam praying. Should I pray with him?"Saeed replied, "Yes."The man asked, "Then which of the two counts as my prayer?"Saeed answered, "Are you the one who decides that? That rests with Allah alone."

أن رجلا سأل سعيد بن المسيب فقال إني أصلي في بيتي ثم آت المسجد فأجد الإمام يصلي أفأصلي معه فقال سعيد نعم فقال الرجل فأيهما صلاتي فقال سعيد أو أنت تجعلهما إنما ذلك إلى الله
