Umar bin Khattab noticed that Sulayman bin Abu Hathma was absent from the dawn prayer. Umar then set out early for the market, and Sulayman's house lay between the market and the Prophet's masjid, so he passed by Shifa, Umm Sulayman, and said to her, "I did not see Sulayman at the dawn prayer."She replied, "He spent the night praying, and then sleep overcame him."Umar said, "That I should attend the dawn prayer with the congregation is dearer to me than standing in prayer through a whole night."
و حدثني عن مالك عن ابن شهاب
أن عمر بن الخطاب فقد سليمان بن أبي حثمة في صلاة الصبح وأن عمر بن الخطاب غدا إلى السوق ومسكن سليمان بين السوق والمسجد النبوي فمر على الشفاء أم سليمان فقال لها لم أر سليمان في الصبح فقالت إنه بات يصلي فغلبته عيناه فقال عمر لأن أشهد صلاة الصبح في الجماعة أحب إلي من أن أقوم ليلة
