Abdullah bin Abu Bakr reported,

A man from the Ansar was praying in a walled garden he owned at Qaff, one of the valleys of Madinah. It was the season of fruit, and the palm trees hung low, ringed about with their fruit. He looked at them and was delighted by the fruit he saw, then he returned to his prayer, only to find that he no longer knew how much of it he had performed.He said, "This property of mine has brought a trial upon me."So he came to Uthman bin Affan, who was the caliph at that time, and told him what had happened. He said, "It is charity, so put it toward good causes."Uthman bin Affan sold it for fifty thousand, and so that property came to be called "the Fifty."

عن عبد الله بن أبي بكر

أن رجلا من الأنصار كان يصلي في حائط له بالقف واد من أودية المدينة في زمان الثمر والنخل قد ذللت فهي مطوقة بثمرها فنظر إليها فأعجبه ما رأى من ثمرها ثم رجع إلى صلاته فإذا هو لا يدري كم صلى فقال لقد أصابتني في مالي هذا فتنة فجاء عثمان بن عفان وهو يومئذ خليفة فذكر له ذلك وقال هو صدقة فاجعله في سبل الخير فباعه عثمان بن عفان بخمسين ألفا فسمي ذلك المال الخمسين
