I was sitting with Abdullah bin Abbas when a man from Yemen came in and said, "Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings," and then added something further to that as well.Ibn Abbas, who by that time had lost his sight, asked, "Who is this?"The people said, "This is the Yemeni who visits you," and so they identified him for him.Then Ibn Abbas said, "The greeting of peace ends at 'blessings.'"
و حدثني عن مالك عن وهب بن كيسان
كنت جالسا عند عبد الله بن عباس فدخل عليه رجل من أهل اليمن فقال السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته ثم زاد شيئا مع ذلك أيضا قال ابن عباس وهو يومئذ قد ذهب بصره من هذا قالوا هذا اليماني الذي يغشاك فعرفوه إياه قال فقال ابن عباس إن السلام انتهى إلى البركة
