Urwa bin Zubayr reported,

He said to him, "When you are on a journey, if you wish to give the adhan and the iqamah, do so, and if you wish, give the iqamah only and do not give the adhan."

و حدثني يحيى عن مالك

عن هشام بن عروة أن أباه قال

له إذا كنت في سفر فإن شئت أن تؤذن وتقيم فعلت وإن شئت فأقم ولا تؤذن.
