Amra bint Abdul-Rahman reported,

During the time of Uthman, a thief stole a citron, and Uthman bin Affan ordered that it be valued. It was valued at three dirhams, at an exchange rate of twelve dirhams to the dinar, so Uthman had his hand cut off.

و حدثني عن مالك عن عبد الله بن أبي بكر عن أبيه

أن سارقا سرق في زمان عثمان أترجة فأمر بها عثمان بن عفان أن تقوم فقومت بثلاثة دراهم من صرف اثني عشر درهما بدينار فقطع عثمان يده
