Umar bin Khattab was told that there was here a boy from Ghassan, well grown but not yet of age, whose heir was in Syria. He had wealth, and here he had no one but a paternal cousin of his.Umar bin Khattab said, "Then let him make a bequest to her."So he bequeathed to her a property known as Bir Jusham. Amr bin Sulaym said that this property was later sold for thirty thousand dirham. The cousin to whom he made the bequest was the mother of Amr bin Sulaym Zuraqi.Malik related to me from Yahya bin Saeed, from Abu Bakr bin Hazm, that a boy from Ghassan was dying in Madinah while his heir was in Syria. The matter was mentioned to Umar bin Khattab, and it was said to him, "So-and-so is dying. Should he make a bequest?"Umar replied, "Let him make one."Yahya bin Saeed said that Abu Bakr said the boy was ten or twelve years old. He bequeathed Bir Jusham, and his family sold it for thirty thousand dirham.
حدثني مالك عن عبد الله بن أبي بكر بن حزم عن أبيه أن
أنه قيل لعمر بن الخطاب إن هاهنا غلاما يفاعا لم يحتلم من غسان ووارثه بالشام وهو ذو مال وليس له هاهنا إلا ابنة عم له قال عمر بن الخطاب فليوص لها قال فأوصى لها بمال يقال له بئر جشم قال عمرو بن سليم فبيع ذلك المال بثلاثين ألف درهم وابنة عمه التي أوصى لها هي أم عمرو بن سليم الزرقي و حدثني مالك عن يحيى بن سعيد عن أبي بكر بن حزم أن غلاما من غسان حضرته الوفاة بالمدينة ووارثه بالشام فذكر ذلك لعمر بن الخطاب فقيل له إن فلانا يموت أفيوصي قال فليوص قال يحيى بن سعيد قال أبو بكر وكان الغلام ابن عشر سنين أو اثنتي عشرة سنة قال فأوصى ببئر جشم فباعها أهلها بثلاثين ألف درهم
