Malik reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade a sale combined with a loan.Malik said, "The explanation of this is that a man says to another, 'I will take your goods for such and such a price, on the condition that you lend me such and such.' If they conclude a contract between themselves on this basis, it is not permissible. But if the one who stipulated the loan abandons the condition he stipulated, then the sale is permissible."

حدثني يحيى

عن مالك، أنه بلغه

أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن بيع وسلف.قال مالك: وتفسير ذلك أن يقول الرجل للرجل: أخذ سلعتك بكذا وكذا، على أن تسلفني كذا وكذا. فإن عقدا بينهما على هذا؛ فهو غير جائز، فإن ترك الذي اشترط السلف ما اشترط منه؛ كان ذلك البيع جائزا.
