Malik reported,

Warrants were issued to the people in the time of Marwan bin Hakam for provisions from Jar, and the people traded these warrants among themselves before taking delivery of the goods. So Zayd bin Thabit, along with another of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, went to Marwan bin Hakam and said, "Marwan, do you permit the selling of riba?"Marwan replied, "I seek refuge with Allah! What do you mean?"They said, "These warrants. The people trade in them, then sell them on before taking delivery of the goods."So Marwan sent the guards to track them down, take them out of people's hands, and return them to their owners.

وحدثني

عن مالك، أنه بلغه

أن صكوكا خرجت للناس في زمان مروان بن الحكم من طعام الجار، فتبايع الناس تلك الصكوك بينهم قبل أن يستوفوها، فدخل زيد بن ثابت، ورجل من أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ على مروان بن الحكم، فقالا: أتحل بيع الربا بمروان؟! فقال: أعوذ بالله ! وما ذاك؟! فقالا: هذه الصكوك، تبايعها الناس، ثم باعوها قبل أن يستوفوها، فبعث مروان الحرس يتبعونها، ينزعونها من أيدي الناس، ويردونها إلى أهلها.
