Umar bin Khattab said, "Do not sell gold for gold except in equal measure, and do not give one greater value than the other. Do not sell silver for silver except in equal measure, and do not give one greater value than the other. Do not sell any of it that is absent for what is present. And if a man asks you to wait even until he enters his house, do not grant him that delay. I fear for you the excess, and the excess is riba."
و حدثني عن مالك عن عبد الله بن دينار
أن عمر بن الخطاب قال لا تبيعوا الذهب بالذهب إلا مثلا بمثل ولا تشفوا بعضها على بعض ولا تبيعوا الورق بالورق إلا مثلا بمثل ولا تشفوا بعضها على بعض ولا تبيعوا شيئا منها غائبا بناجز وإن استنظرك إلى أن يلج بيته فلا تنظره إني أخاف عليكم الرماء والرماء هو الربا
