My grandfather Hibban had two wives, one from the Hashim clan and one from the Ansar. He divorced the Ansari woman while she was nursing, and a year passed without her menstruating. Then he died, and she still had not menstruated.She said, "I inherit from him, since I have not menstruated."The two women brought their dispute before Uthman bin Affan, and he ruled that she was entitled to the inheritance. The Hashimi woman blamed Uthman for this, so he said, "This is the work of your cousin. He is the one who advised us to rule this way," meaning Ali bin Abu Talib.

كانت عند جدي حبان امرأتان هاشمية وأنصارية فطلق الأنصارية وهي ترضع فمرت بها سنة ثم هلك عنها ولم تحض فقالت أنا أرثه لم أحض فاختصمتا إلى عثمان بن عفان فقضى لها بالميراث فلامت الهاشمية عثمان فقال هذا عمل ابن عمك هو أشار علينا بهذا يعني علي بن أبي طالب
