Saeed bin Musayab reported,

Umar bin Khattab said, "A woman may not be given in marriage except with the permission of her guardian, or of a person of sound judgment among her family, or of the ruling authority."

وحدثني عن مالك: أنه بلغه

عن سعيد بن المسيب أنه قال

قال عمر بن الخطاب: لا تنكح المرأة إلا بإذن وليها أو ذي الرأي من أهلها، أو السلطان.
