When I was young I said to a man, "What harm is there in a man saying, 'I owe a walk to the House of Allah,' without saying, 'I vow a walk'?"Then a man said to me, "How would you like me to give you this little thing?" meaning a small cucumber he had in his hand, "and you say, 'I owe a walk to the House of Allah'?"I said, "Yes."So I said it, being young at the time. Later, once I had grown to understand things, I was told that I owed a walk. So I came to Saeed bin Musayab and asked him about it, and he said to me, "You owe a walk." So I walked.
