When you send blessings upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, do so beautifully, for you do not know, perhaps that will be presented to him.They said to him, "Then teach us."He said, say, "O Allah, place Your blessings, mercy, and favors upon the master of the messengers, the leader of the God-conscious, and the seal of the prophets, Muhammad, Your servant and Your messenger, the leader of goodness, the guide to goodness, and the messenger of mercy. O Allah, raise him to a praiseworthy station that the first and the last will envy. O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious. O Allah, bestow favor upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You bestowed favor upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious."
حدثنا الحسين بن بيان حدثنا زياد بن عبد الله حدثنا المسعودي عن عون بن عبد الله عن أبي فاختة عن الأسود بن يزيد
إذا صليتم على رسول الله ﷺ فأحسنوا الصلاة عليه فإنكم لا تدرون لعل ذلك يعرض عليه قال فقالوا له فعلمنا قال قولوا اللهم اجعل صلاتك ورحمتك وبركاتك على سيد المرسلين وإمام المتقين وخاتم النبيين محمد عبدك ورسولك إمام الخير وقائد الخير ورسول الرحمة اللهم ابعثه مقاما محمودا يغبطه به الأولون والآخرون اللهم صل على محمد وعلى آل محمد كما صليت على إبراهيم وعلى آل إبراهيم إنك حميد مجيد اللهم بارك على محمد وعلى آل محمد كما باركت على إبراهيم وعلى آل إبراهيم إنك حميد مجيد
Sourcing, [its chain of transmission is daif]. Busiri said, "Masudi ... became confused later in his life." See Taqyid wa Idah (4330430). It has not been established whether Ziyad heard from him before his confusion or after it, though the latter seems more likely.
