The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to raise his hands when he began the prayer and when he bowed.
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا عبد الوهاب حدثنا حميد
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يرفع يديه إذا دخل في الصلاة وإذا ركع
[Sahih] Abu Yaala transmitted it in his Musnad, hadith no. 3793, from the hadith of Abdul-Wahhab Thaqafi, with the same chain, adding "and when he raised his head from the ruku." Daraqutni identified a defect in it, so the chain is daif, but it is sahih on the basis of the sahih corroborating narrations.Humayd Tawil is trustworthy but a mudallis (Taqrib), and the Hafiz placed him in the third category of those who practice tadlis, and here he used the ambiguous form "an."
